# BIM STEP import recovery boundary
Batch: `941fac2e6c3a20041edef8f2`
Selected business: `business-format:BIM:import:.stp`.
The supplied failure reports a WASM memory access trap during document inspection
after STEP input rejection. It does not identify the native faulting symbol or
prove whether missing or malformed input caused the preceding rejection.
The BIM STEP workflow now wraps native `Part.insert`, shape validation and
recompute in a FreeCAD document transaction. Failed import or validation aborts
the transaction instead of retaining partially imported objects. Geometry still
comes from the existing Part/OCCT reader. The business case now names missing
and malformed rejection and subsequent inspection stages separately; all geometry,
document preservation and recovery assertions remain required.
This fixes the visible rollback gap but does not establish the cause or resolution
of the memory trap. Build, sync and business acceptance are owned by the outer
pipeline and were not run in this edit turn. Rebuild the affected
`FreeCADWebBimRuntimeProbe` target and run the selected STEP business case. If the
trap remains, retain the newly distinguished failing stage and resolve the WASM
stack to native symbols before further changes. No business acceptance is claimed.
